Ripley_finds_QueenThree days ago was the 30th anniversary of James Cameron’s Aliens

If you’re feeling as old as me, it means that you’ve seen this movie when you were in your twenties, or maybe even later. Either way, the 1986 Cameron’s movie was one of the best Sci-Fi Action Movie to date, and STILL is, filled with unbelievably 3-dimensional and likeable characters like Ripley, Hicks, Bishop and her, the Bitch, the Alien’s Queen  (not that likeable, I admit).

I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit.
It’s the only way to be sure.

It was a war movie,  a horror movie, a siege movie, all mashed up together with some very interesting political and phylosophical subtext, packed with one-liners that ANY sci-fi fan can still quote without any effort.

Not bad for a Human

It was a different thing from the first one, one of the best Ridley Scott’s movie, that was a metaphysical horror about life, death, and capitalism. It was a visual feast with a brilliant script, instead of some silly dumb blockbuster of today, packed with visual effects and without a soul, or a brain.

To celebrate this date,  I’ve bought this t-shirt from Alien at LastExitToNowhere, the same wonderfully geeky place where last year I bought this beauty:
