The brummie gang of the Shelby’s are back for the third season of BBC2’s period crime drama Peaky Blinders in a few days, starting next Tuersday. Starring Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, boss of the gang, Helen McCrory as his charismatic aunt Polly and Sam Neill as the irish inspector determined to destroy the gang and his leader. In the last season there’s been a special guest star like Tom Hardy, great british actor who starred in movie as Mad max:Fury Road, Locke and The Dark Knight rises, and he’ll be back this season, reprising his role of Alfie Solomons, leader of a jewish gang. Also starring this year Paddy Considine, recently seen in The World’s End and Pride, in the role of a corrupted priest.

Gillian Anderson will be back this fall as detective Stella Gibson with the second season of The Fall, drama series nominated at the last Bafta TV Award, in which she’s in pursue of serial killer Paul Spector, played by Jamie Dorman, also nominated at the Bafta as best actor in a drama series.
The british actress is also about to debut on stage in London with Tennesse Williams’s drama A Streetcar Named Desire in the role of Blanche DuBois at the Young Vic Theatre in London, a role which was interpreted by another famous british actress, Vivien Leigh, in Elia Kazan’s 1951 movie with Marlon Brando. The play will be broadcasted live in UK by National Theatre Live on 16th of September, so let’s hope that Nexo Digital will be able to bring it also in Italy …
Nel caso vi steste domandando che fine avesse fatto Oona Chaplin dopo il Red Wedding di Game of Thrones, (ma anche no) e’ cominciata ieri sera su BBC One una nuova serie in sei episodi intitolata The Crimson Field, in cui si narrano le vicende di un gruppo di dottori ed infermiere (suore e volontarie) in servizio al fronte durante la Prima guerra Mondiale, in cui e’ protagonista insieme a Suranne Jones, ovvero Bailey di Scott & Bailey, e Hermione Norris, nota attrice inglese vista tra le altre cose in Spooks e Outcasts.
La serie fa parte delle commemorazioni della BBC del Centenario dell’inizio della Prima Guerra Mondiale, cominciate in Febbraio su BBC Two con Britain’s Great War, bella serie di quattro documentari sull’impatto del primo conflitto mondiale sulla vita e la societa’ britannica.
