As usual, the BBC strikes again with this beatiful preview of the drama coming this winter and next year, among which there is the Sherlock Christmas Special, The Abominable Bride, the new season of the likes of Luther, Happy Valley, Call the Midwife, The Fall, Peaky Blinders AND The Hollow Crown with Benedict Cumberbatch as Richard the Third.

And then there is the six part of War And Peace, with Lily James, Stephen Rea, Gillian Anderson and James Norton and the new series Dickensian, all beautifully accompanied by the reading of the Solitude Poem by the lovely Suranne Jones

Gillian Anderson will be back this fall as detective Stella Gibson with the second season of The Fall, drama series nominated at the last Bafta TV Award, in which she’s in pursue of serial killer Paul Spector, played by Jamie Dorman, also nominated at the Bafta as best actor in a drama series.

The british actress is also about to debut on stage in London with Tennesse Williams’s drama A Streetcar Named Desire in the role of Blanche DuBois at the Young Vic Theatre in London, a role which was interpreted by another famous british actress, Vivien Leigh, in Elia Kazan’s 1951 movie with Marlon Brando. The play will be broadcasted live in UK by National Theatre Live on 16th of September, so let’s hope that Nexo Digital will be able to bring it also in Italy …

Mentre qua si festeggia il NONO compleanno del blog, eccovi la lista delle 10 migliori serie dell’anno, che poi son diventate 12 perchè non riuscivo a scegliere, con in più un doveroso premio speciale che non poteva assolutamente mancare, vista l’importanza del personaggio. Per la miglior miniserie e altri premi ci si rivede l’anno prossimo, cioè domani. Intanto non posso che augurarvi

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary

Impossibile non parlare del Dottore in quello che serialmente parlando E’ stato l’ANNO del Dottore, dal mini-episodio prequel The Night of The Doctor, con protagonista l’ottavo dottore Paul McGann, al bel film per la tv An Adventure in Space and Time, che ci ha raccontato la nascita della serie, fino ad arrivare a The Day of The Doctor, lo speciale per il 50esimo anniversario, trasmesso il 23/11/2013 in contemporanea in 94 paesi, compresa l’Italia grazie a Rai4, con il ritorno di David Tennant nei panni del decimo Dottore, la presenza di John Hurt nei panni del War Doctor, e l’emozionante apparizione di Tom Baker, indimenticato quarto Dottore dalla sciarpona colorata.

Ed ora, avanti con la classifica, particolarmente sofferta perchè quest’anno di buone serie ce ne sono state parecchie e un po’ sovvertita rispetto all’anno scorso perchè alcune grandi serie hanno un po’ deluso le mie aspettative…
