Based on the successful novel written by S.J. Watson (published in Italy with the title Non ti Addormentare), Before I go to Sleep tells the story of Christine, a woman who,  as a consequence of a particular kind of amnesia, every morning wakes up without knowing anything about herself or about what  happened the day before. A gripping thriller where nothing is what it seems, with Nicole Kidman as Christine, Colin Firth as Ben,  his husband and Mark Strong as Nash, the psychiatrist who’s trying to help her remember what caused the amnesia.

83036 Today is the 102th anniversary of the birth of mathematician Alan Turing, inventor of the Turing Machine and  father of modern computers. Later this year a movie about him will hit the movie screens, The Imitation Game, in which he will be interpreted by the always brilliant Benedict Cumberbatch, as shown in these two pictures taken from the next issue of   Empire magazine. With him in the movie, as you can see from the pictures, Mark Strong, Charles Dance and Keira Knightley, and also Matthew Goode and Rory Kinnear. The movie will focus both on his great professional achievements as code-breakers of the Nazi Code Enigma during the WWII as well on the struggles of his tormented private life, because he was gay in a period when  it was still considered a crime.

Cine20_1Nel nuovo numero di CINE20, il collega Weltall ed io ci siamo fatti in quattro  per voi, visto che stavolta vi offriamo ben DUE recensioni DUE, alla faccia dell’estate che svuota le sale: la mia recensione di  Stoker, con un terzetto d’attori da brivido in tutti i sensi, e la sua recensione de L’Uomo d’Acciaio di Snyder, altro reboot pare non proprio riuscitissimo di Superman. Da segnalare tra le uscite della settimana, sempre a cura del mio collega,  ben DUE film inglesi DUE, Blood con Paul Bettany e Mark Strong, e Doppio Gioco con Clive Owen e Andrea Risenborough, oltre alla tamarrata hollywoodiana di turno, ovvero World War Z con il bel Brad Pitt e un branco di zombie volanti. Completano come di consueto il quadro le uscite Home-Video, regno incontrastato del mio inseparabile compagno,  tra cui spiccano il bel Looper con Bruce Willis e Joseph Gordon-Lewitt incastrati tra paradossi temporali e l’inedito La Scomparsa di Alice Creed, altro film inglese con protagonista Gemma Arterton, perchè si vede che è proprio la settimana dei film inglesi…

E’ tutto online,  già da un po’, ovviamente QUA
